IP Mail
Your answer to Cost-Effective, End-to-End Managed Communications
Email is the backbone of all business communications due to its convenience and ease of use. However, running mission critical messaging services in-house drains resources, time and budget spent on hardware, software, upgrades, maintenance, security issues and the staff to support a 24/7 environment.
The managed IP Mail service removes the in-house burden and offers a highly available, secured and centrally managed messaging and collaboration service, with features such as mail, scheduling, contact and task management capabilities.
With IP Mail, the implementation, maintenance and daily operation of the customer email environment can be fully outsourced. The customer still maintains full control over user provisioning and administration functions through the Delegated Management utility.
The managed email service (IP Mail) allows a customer to control its messaging environment without operating it!

How is security addressed ?
IP Mail Service has been created behind a secure firewall which allows for secure access over private and open networks, such as the Internet. The directory also plays a central role in providing optimal security. Passwords are stored in the directory and submitted to the firewall, access nodes and mail server at each session. This offers maximum security while not increasing the complexity of usage. All sessions are encrypted so there is no danger of leaking information over the Internet. In addition, there is an optional virus-checking facility for all SMTP messages.

Yes, existing addresses or domain names can be used and we will work with the customer to develop the best solution.
What are the performance levels ?
IP Mail is based on a proven and reliable platform and managed with operating policies and procedures that we have been running for several years. This allows us to provide an SLA that is competitive in the market. Service availability is currently set at 99.7% measured over a 3-month period (excluding outages for planned maintenance and exclusive down time caused by access networks)
How is access provided ?
The IP Mail servers are located in our data centre. These servers can be accessed via a large variety of access networks, being the BT's network (MPLS, ATM, Frame Relay, IP VPN, MobileXpress) or the public Internet. Communications over the Internet are encrypted with VPNs or SSL (so there is no danger of leaking information over the Internet). The IP Mail service is connected to both networks over a high bandwidth connection, where the customer environment may only have a small bandwidth connection. The centralised messaging technology can employ load balancing, network peering and redundant network interconnections to help ensure that the email service is available when you need it.
